2019 CMMA Golf Outing

July 16, 2019

The 9th Annual CMMA Golf Outing held at Maple Creek in Shepherd is now in the books. It was, by all accounts, a great success. 120 golfers teamed up (30 Foursomes) to enjoy the day and compete for top honors. This year’s winning team was “TEAM CMMA”. They demolished the course finishing with an actual score of 57. From all accounts, this is a new record low score for the event.

But wait… who were the real winners?

The golf outing is after all, the means to an end. Since its inception, monies raised at the event go towards scholarships that are given out each year. This year, the CMMA board had a great deal of difficulty in trying to select the winners. In fact, we normally give out two scholarships. This year’s competition was so strong, we finally decided to give three scholarships. Each scholarship is for $2,500. We invite the winners to attend the golf outing dinner along with parents and close friends. Two of the three winners were able to join us at the dinner this year. Check out the winners’ pictures. The third winner, Spencer Pnacek, could
not be with us but will instead attend the CMMA Annual Meeting at Bucks Run on 11 September to get recognized.

The scholarship recipients are:

• Spencer Pnacek- Coleman High School, attending Saginaw Valley State University

• William Houghten- Coleman High School, attending Ferris State University

• Archer Mills- Fulton High School, attending Hobart Institute of Welding Technology

If you were unable join us for the outing this year, we encourage you to join us next year. It’s not a matter of being a good golfer.
It’s an opportunity for great networking, enjoying a great day in the fresh air, and helping us in offering future scholarships.

Today’s youth are tomorrow’s work force and leaders.
