Greater Gratiot Development, Inc. (GGDI) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that has been tasked with coordinating economic development activities and related services on a countywide basis since 1978. Economic development helps make the county a better place. The mission of the organization is to retain, expand, and attract business & industry and to participate in activities which enhance the economic climate within the Gratiot Community. In order to carry out this mission, the organization is tasked with providing small business assistance to existing and start-up firms, attracting new businesses to the area, and diversifying the area-economy to ensure stability. GGDI works primarily with industrial, large commercial, agricultural, and renewable energy projects.
GGDI is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, private not-for-profit organization. With 32 board members representing all sectors of our community, We act as a team to ensure the best quality of life and growth potential in Gratiot County. GGDI works closely with Gratiot County municipalities, agriculture, finance, education, and the private sector.
We offer developers one-stop assistance for locating and growing businesses. GGDI, working in collaboration with local and state partners, specializes in the following areas:
