MORBARK, from a simple blacksmith shop to a 1.1-million-square-foot manufacturing complex in Winn, MI and another 400 thousand square-foot manufacturing complex in OH. Starting with two workers in 1957, to over 750 global employees today. From one product to hundreds of high-performance equipment designs. We are also proud members of the CMMA!

How it Began

The year was 1957 when Norval Morey, a local sawmill operator, took the first risky step into manufacturing with a patent for a portable pulp wood debarker. Nobody in Winn, Michigan, could have predicted the growth the company would experience over the next several decades. Norval focused on innovative machines to turn wood waste into profits and add business value for field contractors. That philosophy still holds true to this day.

WHO WE ARE 

Morbark and its affiliate brands, Rayco, DENIS CIMAF, and Boxer, produce a full line of brush chippers, stump cutters, mini skid steers, forestry mulchers, whole tree and biomass chippers, flails, horizontal and tub grinders, sawmill equipment, material handling systems, and mulcher head attachments for excavators and skid steers. Sales and aftermarket support are conducted through a worldwide, authorized dealer network.

EXPANSIONS

Morbark acquired the Boxer Equipment line of mini-skid steers in December 2012. In 2016, Morbark was acquired by Stellex Capital Management.  Under Stellex, Morbark expanded its influence. On November 2, 2017, Morbark announced it acquired Rayco Manufacturing, Inc. The purchase of Rayco again broadened the range of tree care and industrial equipment, aftermarket parts, and service available to our Customers. In December 2018, Morbark completed the acquisition of DENIS CIMAF, Inc., based in Roxton Falls, Québec. The purchase of DENIS CIMAF is another step in the Company’s strategic focus on broadening the range of equipment offered to dealers and end Customers.

2019-present

In October 2019, Morbark was acquired by Alamo Group, Inc.  Alamo Group, Inc is a $2+ billion dollar, publicly-owned, global company.
