Three years ago, Central Michigan Manufacturers Association launched an initiative called PRIME with the Gratiot-Isabella RESD.
PRIME: Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education
Through the PRIME program, training programs and equipment were procured by the Gratiot-Isabella RESD and many students have been positively impacted. Equipment included Precision Measurement carts, 3D printers, and expansion of the CAD program. This new equipment and related programs is preparing students for careers in the world of manufacturing. It is also serving as a magnet, attracting more and more students to the CTE programs.
To date, more than 200 industry recognized certifications have been awarded to students and the expectation is that this number will increase drastically in the future.
On October 6, 2022, the Gratiot-Isabella RESD and CMMA presented awards to the supporting businesses. Their financial support made the PRIME initiative possible.
Supporting businesses included:
- Bandit Industries
- Powell Solutions
- Morbark
- American Mitsuba
- Isabella Bank
- Integrity Fab & Machine
- Aircraft Precision Products
- Gratiot County Community Foundation
The awards were presented to the supporters by Paul Hungerford, Mary Kay Voeks and Doug Bush of the Gratiot Isabella RESD and the CMMA.
